Not everything calm stays calm.

Allen is twenty-one and a half when Fanelia is attacked and burned by an unknown enemy; reports stating they were invisible.

That night Celena stayed up late watching the flames brighten the dark sky, wondering how a guymelef - an entire squad of them - could become invisible.

She saw a light shine across the sky and went out to investigate.

Celena found a girl with odd hair and even odder clothes in the forest. The Moleman, current loved pest of the Castello, seemed to be a bit too intrigued by her jewelry. Celena of course rescued the girl from him; she wondered who this Amano person was he apparently looked like. King Van Fanel apparently thought something terrible had brought Allen and the girl together. Allen calmly told the fiery young king the truth. King Fanel sheathed his sword. Both were brought back to the Fort and given housing. Later King Fanel's catgirl companion was found and tended to.

Allen promised King Fanel safe passage to Asturia to speak with King Aston regarding aid their treaty offered. The young man wanted to return to his kingdom and Celena sadly informed him of his loss. King Fanel was taken aback and deeply saddened but agreed that going to the capital was best.

Before their departure they enjoyed a good sparing match between Scherezade and Escaflowne. Allen knew that Balgus had trained King Fanel and hoped the lessons were learned well. She is content in finding a new sparing partner.

Allen is unhappy when Zaibackean Lord Dilandau Albaltou comes requesting provisions. The treaty between Asturia and Zaiback means Allen must fill the request. The captain is cocky, demanding, rude, and demeans everyone around him. King Fanel makes a fool of himself (but he is young and fiery and will learn control) and Allen has to scramble to find a way to cover for mystery girl Kanzaki Hitomi - but call her Hitomi? Dilandau is shocked and Celena now has to break the poor girl's heart.

It shakes everyone when the girl claims they will be attacked by the invisible giants and everything will burn. Celena doesn't believe in the old wives' tales about the Mystic Moon. The girl may claim to be from there - Celena won't argue either way - but there is nothing wrong with extra training, planning, and preparing.

Allen is shocked when they are attacked and the Fort burns.

Celena, King Fanel, Hitomi, and a small crew of Allen's men manage to escape to the Crusade.
No one thought that Captain Dilandau's men would attack them. Allen didn’t know that Escaflowne could turn in to a dragon. King Fanel bravely draws off the Dragonslayers.

They flee to Palas.

Little did she know she would be taken on the wildest adventure no one could ever dream of and be dragged to the ends of Gaea and beyond.
